2nd shift Hydraulic Maintenance Mechanic.

Our Northeast Houston area client has an immediate opening for a 2nd shift Hydraulic Maintenance Mechanic.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Comply with company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.

  • Comply with company policies and procedures.

  • Comply with company Housekeeping policies and standards to maintain a clean and orderly work station.

  • Comply with company no-smoking in designated areas and no cell phone policy.

  • Meet all company quality standards.

  • Ensure documentation is complete and accurate in a timely manner.

  • Reads, interprets and understand job cards.

  • Represent the company in a positive professional manner.

  • Maintains and inspect equipment.

  • Use basic electrical knowledge: troubleshoot blown fuses, tripped overloads, pushbuttons, limit switches, etc.

  • Test a variety of AC and DC circuits ranging from 12v to 480v, using a volt meter.

  • Installs conduit, disconnects, contactors, and MCCs.

  • Use mechanical knowledge to remove broken bolts, determines thread diameter and pitch and repairs, threads.

  • Uses hydraulic knowledge to identify different styles and pumps, pressure and flow control valves and related components. Interprets, understands and troubleshoots hydraulic circuits and drawings.

  • Maintain and inspect all air lines, hoses and pipes ensuring no leaks and safe working conditions.

  • Maintains and inspects all rigging materials (chains, hooks, clamps etc.) in accordance with company’s safety regulations and regulatory standards, and maintain color coding system. Ensures all logs are current and up to date.

  • Maintain and ensure safe operation of electrical cords, gas lines, oxygen lines, HVAC filters, and oven filters.

  • Keep maintenance area clean and organized including parts storage area, maintain inventory control of parts.

  • Employee is responsible for providing their own tool which must be in good working condition.

  • Perform other duties assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Ability to operate Defum, Betts, and Bullard Boring Mills, per job cards, drawings and procedure.

  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers, Vernier calipers and tape measure.

  • Is certified and the ability to safely operate a lift truck up to 40,000 pound lift capacity.

  • Is certified and the ability to safely operate the overhead crane.

  • Ability to safely operate hand tools such as: grinder, hammer, wrench and pry bar.

  • Ability to read prints and drawings.

  • Understands metric measurements and standard measurements.

  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematics skills.

  • Understands OD/ID.

  • Ability to work well with others including all levels of management.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbal and written.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

  • Knowledge of and experience with safely operating standard hand and power tools used in mechanical electrical jobs.

  • Basic understanding of hydraulic circuits including; pumps, directional control valves, and cylinders.

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with maintenance experience.

  • AAS in Automation Controls or related field preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to tolerate exposure to a manufacturing environment and extreme weather conditions.

  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach for extended periods of time on a daily basis.

  • Ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Able to work 40 plus hours a week.

  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment.

Pay Rate: $21.00
