Accounts Receivable Clerk Opening, San Antonio, TX

Our client needs an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk:

  • Assist in the management of over 500 A/R accounts, which includes reviewing and monitoring of outstanding customer accounts and balances, making collections calls, recommending credit holds on delinquent customer accounts, and informing management of issues and concerns relating to A/R accounts.

  • Sending statements so they coincide with payment schedules.

  • Performing A/R account reconciliations on a timely basis to ensure customer accounts do not become delinquent.

  • Research short payments and ensure proper deduction distribution. Timely follow up on short payments and other A/R discrepancies. Recommend credit and debit memos for customer accounts and perform action(s) authorized by management.

  • Providing customer service as it applies to A/R; faxing and/or emailing invoices and statements, answering calls, etc…

  • Following A/R accounts policies and procedures as set forth by management.

  • Treasury

  • Cash payment application to A/R accounts on a daily basis, notating variances and following up on these variances.

  • Recommend action on payment variances to management and performing action requested by management.

  • Credit

  • Review and monitor A/R customer accounts to ensure credit limits are not exceeded and accounts do not become delinquent.

  • Recommend credit holds and other appropriate actions for customer accounts that are delinquent or slow paying.

  • Collections

  • Support management in the participation of collections and problem resolution coordination, which could include working with a collection agency.

  • Finance / Accounting

  • Support into Prepare journal entries to the general ledger as needed and approved by management.

  • Support into Prepare special financial reports for management.

  • Support into Accounts Payable daily activities.

  • Special Projects

  • Work on special projects as assigned by management.

Additional Qualifications

  • Microsoft Office

  • JD Edwards -Oracle: mandatory (or SAP system experience)

  • Outlook

  • Excel: Intermediate to Advanced

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position
