We have an opportunity with a large local commercial construction company to get your foot in the door. This is a contract to hire for a position, starts in Mcallen, Texas for the next 3-6 months that pays per deim and travel. On project completion, the position would continue here in San Antonio.
The Assistant Superintendent is assigned specific field operations on the project. He/she is responsible for the timely and profitable completion of each assignment.
What You’ll Do:
Responsible for the safety of all assigned employees and subcontractors to ensure the safe execution of all activities, including the strict adherence to company/OSHA safety policies.
Supervise, on a day-to-day basis, on-site field labor force and Subcontractors.
Inspection of Subcontract operations to ensure compliance with the contract.
Create and maintain site logistics plan, in coordination with Sup/Project Manager
Conduct quality inspections and determine Quality Control deficiencies
Attend and participate in project meetings, including subcontractor meetings.
Computer proficient with an ability to adapt to new innovations and processes
Strong written, communication, problem-solving skills and math/accounting skills
Good leadership skills
Functions effectively as part of a team
Excellent time management and organizational skills: Manage schedules, including preparation of detailed short-term schedules. Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts. Meetings and communication with Superintendent and Customer.
Experiences in a commercial construction trade as a Foreman/project manager may be considered in lieu of Bachelor of Science in Construction or Engineering
Basic knowledge of construction industry including equipment, and labor.
