Auto Claims Specialist Opening, San Antonio, TX

As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for handling specific processes that support the overall end to end auto claims experience. Your role can include reviewing auto claims details, verifying information, determining policy coverage, reviewing liability decisions, calculating claim amounts and making payments. You will prepare claim forms and related documentation and document claim file to move claim forward in the claims process.• Provides AUTO claims service via internal channels (phone/email/fax/mail/other electronic channels) to clients and third parties.• Reviews coverage and liability associated with an auto claim and understand the application of both to the claim presented to ensure coverage owed.• Understands the end-to-end process of an auto claim and handles specific claim tasks as required to assist with advancing a claim forward efficiently and accurately to include payment of claim.• Use critical thinking and detailed analysis to understand what is owed and advance claim forward through documentation, diary adjustments, and/or communication.• Contact parties involved in the loss as necessary to resolve auto claim.• Follow provided steps in a statement of work provided and gain efficiency through handling a repeatable and continuous process.• Clearly document thought process, investigation, evaluation, negotiation and settlement decisions as necessary based on the claims process being handled.• Prioritize and manage assigned claims worklist.• Collaborate and support team members to resolve issues and identify appropriate matters for escalation.• Acquires and applies basic knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance industry products, services, and processes to include P&C insurance policy contracts and coverages and the claim handling process and procedures.• Ability to maintain discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgement• Supports workload surges and/or Catastrophe operations as needed.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS• High School Diploma or GED.• This position will require a Texas All Lines Adjuster's license or ability to obtain a Texas All Lines Adjuster’s license. We will provide training if required.• 1 year of customer contact experience• Ability to work with routine and/or repetitive activities but also be responsive to disruption and change.• Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and easily acclimates to changes in process/systems for overall improvement of the organization.• Must be accurate and detail-oriented.• Ability to learn new technologies.• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.•PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS• Bachelor’s degree• Current Casualty Adjuster License• 2 or more years customer service experience• Experience as an Associate Auto Adjuster I• Experience with Total Loss processing specific to preparing and paying total loss claims.• Knowledgeable in vehicle damage and causes• Familiar with navigating Title Procurement sites such as IAA and Copart; and valuations sites such as CCC.TRAINING• Licensing. You must obtain your license within 3 testing attempts (paid for by company).• Employees attending training are expected to meet company’s established standards for performance, attendance and conduct.
