Primary Job Title: Packaging Supervisor (2nd Shift)
Location: South Dallas, TX
Shift and Pay Details:
- Shift: 2nd Shift, 2:30 PM – 12:00 AM
- Pay Range: Starting at $17 – $20 per hour
Job Summary:
The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily activities in the packaging department, ensuring smooth production, quality control, and inventory management. This role focuses on meeting company standards for service and cost while leading a team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily activities in the packaging department, ensuring smooth production, quality control, and inventory management. This role focuses on meeting company standards for service and cost while leading a team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily planning and team huddles to review production schedules.
- Set up packaging department each shift, including materials preparation.
- Lead, coach, and develop employees to align with company objectives.
- Monitor team performance metrics (throughput, efficiency, and quality).
- Communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, managers, and the quality department.
- Oversee product quality from raw materials to packaging.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and plant safety guidelines.
- Coordinate with maintenance for machinery readiness.
- Manage sanitation procedures pre- and post-production.
- Handle employee relations, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Approve and submit employee hours for payroll processing.
- Work with purchasing on inventory management and stock needs.
- Enter data daily into the MC system and maintain accurate records.
- Enforce company policies, HACCP, and GMP practices among team members.
- Report food safety or quality issues promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Flexibility to work on Saturdays as needed.
Required Experience:
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
- Experience in the food and beverage industry, especially with food processing and sanitation.
Required Skills:
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and foster a team-oriented environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Effective at prioritizing tasks, detail-oriented, and accurate with data entry.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and other food safety protocols.
- Experience in sanitation of food processing equipment.
Work Environment:
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for most of the shift.
- Occasionally required to balance or climb.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
