The Business Resumption Specialist responds to cyberattacks, preserves, and collects digital artifacts, restores systems, reconfigures domain controllers and firewalls, troubleshoots network issues and provides any other IT-related tasks necessary to restore the clients’ business operations.


  • Respond to initial cyber-attack events by collecting forensic artifacts to document issues and concerns.

  • Communicate well with clients as required: keep them informed of incident progress; notify them of impending changes or agreed outages; document all results.

  • Restore systems as needed for the engagement.

  • Reconfigure domain controllers, firewalls, and other network devices.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any related technical issues.

  • Advanced deployment and troubleshooting of technology solutions involving the following:

    • Office 365 and G-suite administration

    • Active directory/Exchange administration

    • Linux OS, command line tools, syslogging, and application configuration

    • Knowledge of Windows Active Directory, Exchange, and domain controller setup and administration

    • WAN and LAN connectivity (routers, firewalls, switching)

    • Computer deployment management systems and disk imaging solutions

    • Microsoft Windows workstations and applications

    • Firewalls, VPNs, Active Directory, Group Policy, Linux, and Windows servers

    • Multi-Factor Authentication

    • Virtualization (VMware and Hyper-V)

  • Assist with onsite client support as necessary.

  • Improve technical proficiency via courses, exams, certifications, and through development of expertise with company’s specific technologies.

  • Ability to travel some of the time.

  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant IT experience.

Physical Demands: This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds may be expected in addition to sitting for a specific segment of time.

Safety Requirements: Responsible to use appropriate procedures and techniques as required by the different projects and job duties.

Working Conditions: Work is primarily in an office setting.

Travel: Regular travel to client sites and other company locations is expected. Must have ability to drive company-owned or personal vehicle.
