Cloud Security Product Architect (Austin, TX – Remote)
The Cloud Security Product Architect works with the CTO to define and execute the technology strategy and is responsible for ensuring the technical design of the platform fulfills the business requirements. He/she works with engineering and product management leaders on the definition and delivery of highly scalable and secure SaaS solutions.
This is a work-from-home position that can be located anywhere in US east or central time zone, however residents in or near Austin, TX are preferred.
Technical Leadership Role:
- This position requires excellent cloud technical skills as well as outstanding analytical and influencing skills paired with solid business acumen
- It is a cross-functional role that requires consensus building and communication with all levels in the organization and customers
Responsibilities include:
- Partnering with internal and external business stakeholders and technology leaders to translate program requirements into technical solutions and system design
- Defining and driving API-centric SaaS architecture and enterprise capabilities (scalability, fault tolerance, extensibility, maintainability, etc)
- Determining overall architectural principles, frameworks and standards
- Documenting and communicating designs, estimates, and implementation plans to program stakeholders
- Driving research, case studies and prototypes on leading-edge technologies and how they can be leveraged
- Designing proof-of-concept pilots and working closely with Sales Engineering to drive successful POC implementations for complex projects
- Providing feedback from the field to engineers, QA and product stakeholders
Required skills and experience:
- Must have a track record of building and deploying mission-critical, highly distributed, large-scale SaaS applications for Enterprise adoptions
- Must have demonstrated experience designing end-to-end architecture involving cloud services in security or data-centric platform offerings.
- Must have experience with at least one major IaaS and/or PaaS technology (OpenStack, AWS, Azure, GCP) including defining and scripting full topologies
- Must have strong knowledge of failure modes, resiliency patterns, and techniques to enable robust, self-healing architecture
- Must have a strong understanding of infrastructure and related technologies (hardware, virtualization, networking)
- Must have experience with designing and deploying scaling architectures using Kubernetes, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
- Must have experience designing highly available architecture including monitoring solutions for ensuring uptime and SLA.
- Must have experience designing architecture with security in mind, complying with security standards such as SOC2 and ISO 27001.
- Must have a strong security background
