Job Summary:
 A leading custom machining and fabrication company seeks an experienced Machinist to join their skilled team. This role involves producing high-quality parts and components from blueprints, sketches, and sample parts. The ideal candidate is proficient in programming, setup, and operation of manual and CNC machines, ensuring precision and efficiency in every project.
Contract Details:
  • Pay Range: $30.00–$40.00 per hour, based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Program CNC machines directly at the machine, including selecting tooling, speeds, and feeds, and identifying potential process improvements.
  • Set up and run CNC and manual machines, including Haas CNC and Quick Mill, as well as assist in setting up machines for other operators.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, and sample parts to create precision components.
  • Perform hands-on machining tasks, including operation of manual lathes, CNC lathes, and CNC mills.
  • Participate in a multi-step interview process, including a written test, personal interview, and a hands-on machining test involving the use of carbon steel and provided tooling.
Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of machining experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to program at the machine and operate both manual and CNC machinery.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
  • Experience with Haas CNC and Quick Mill machines.
  • Familiarity with using computer-based programming software for CNC machines.
Required Skills:
  1. Proficient in programming CNC machines at the machine, including selecting appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds.
  2. Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.
  3. Expertise in setting up and operating both manual lathes and CNC machines.
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of machining techniques for carbon steel and other materials.
  • Ability to assist other operators with machine setups.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for identifying process improvements.
Interview Process:
  • Written test to assess technical knowledge.
  • Personal interview to discuss experience and qualifications.
  • Hands-on machining test, including programming and operating a manual lathe, CNC lathe, and CNC mill.
