VIP Staffing is immediately hiring a Superintendent of construction for a leading company in Edgewood, NM
As a Construction Superintendent you will:
- Provide leadership to field supervisors (superintendents & foremen)
- Schedule, coordinate, supervise and ensure the safety and productivity of crews at all projects.
- Ensure timely and effective communication to required parties (ie: project manager or clients) regarding any changes or updates to the plan.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of timecards by all field supervisors.
- Review daily diaries and other project documentation following up with individual coaching/mentoring as required
- Ensure projects are appropriately supplied and there are no deficiencies in field crew requirements.
- Regularly review workplace production and progress on all projects
- Promote and enforce planning, scheduling and forecasting of labor and Equpment required on master schedules for 3 week scheduling
- Communicate project scope, schedules and budget with foremen and superintendents.
- Communicate daily with Project manager and client as appropriate.
- Identify and act upon every opportunity to reduce labor and provide efficient crew designs to meet budgets
- Ensure timely and accurate communication of labor and equipment requirements to dispatch
- Work with field supervisors as necessary in meeting identified needs and deficiencies in the plan/schedule, overcoming work challenges, and communicating these to project teams.
- enforce compliance with company safety regulations, policies and procedures
- Conduct safety walks when on job sites, identify needs and follow up for appropriate future training and/or disciplinary action with specific focus on field supervisor safety compliance.
- Assure the company is represented by a trained and named "Competent Person" on every job under their direct supervision.
- Oversee the field supervisors in assurance that locates are established and maintained
- Encourages and stresses a high level of consistent project housekeeping through foremen and superintendents.

Construction Superintendent candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered.
- 15 years previous and progressive construction industry supervision/management or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Superior communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to prioritize actions and decisions
- Expert Customer service skills
- Computer Skills/ MS Office Suite
- Experienced utilizing electronic tablets
This is a Full Time Direct Hire Opportunity
The schedule is Monday – Friday 7am – 5:30 pm and may require additional hours depending on projects
Pay for this position is $90,000- $140,000 DOE
