o migrating legacy Justice Systems to a cloud-based solution and most existing Justice data sources will be converted into a new vendor system. The Data Conversion Team is one of 17 different teams comprising the roster for this extremely high-profile project.
o The Data Conversion PM will oversee all aspects of data conversion including multiple extracts from mainframe and other legacy data sources
o Requires technical expertise and understanding of Adabas and SQL
o Experience with code and data mapping preferred
o Requires ability to ask the right questions to ensure dependencies and risks are thoroughly vetted
o Requires ability to clearly define and coordinate steps for multiple data extract deliveries to a 3rd party vendor. Data extracts will come from multiple and disparate sources, each with its own unique parameters
o Prefer experience in release management or other extremely time-sensitive deployments
o Will report to Senior IT PM
For the next several months, main focus will be on planning the data pushes activities and then we will have a push about once every 6 weeks.
In between those pushes, we’ll have data validation activities this PM will need to be involved with. This will let him/her know where we have issues with the data. Those validation activities will also result in additional configuration of the new system (ie. we discover a data field that was not previously configured). The data conversion and system configuration will go hand in hand and so I would like to include configuration management as a role for this PM.
• Manage configuration activities for the new solution
Note that our Vendor has methodologies defined so this PM doesn’t have to design the configuration activities nor perform actual configuration, but rather manage/coordinate other resources (who have already been identified). As well, a schedule has already been developed so truly is just tracking and managing.
