POSITION TITLE: Finance Director (Faith Based Organization)
LOCATION: San Antonio, TX (On-Site)
REPORTS TO: Executive Pastor of Stewardship
JOB SUMMARY
The Finance Director will oversee all the accounting, finance and payroll activities of the department, including but not limited to financial reporting, revenue reporting, payroll processing, and budget preparation. This position will drive our organization’s financial operations and improve financial performance through a variety of strategic and analytical functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Recruits, trains, and manages accounting staff through the coordination of training programs,
leadership guidance, and annual performance reviews
• Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation
• Oversees preparation of church activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets
• Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply
with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards
• Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year; files annual corporate tax returns
• Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with
outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit
• Presents recommendations to management on short-and long-term financial objectives and
policies
• Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and
contract negotiations
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
• Other duties as assigned

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of operation are scheduled Monday – Thursday with
occasional evenings and weekends as job duties demand.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to do the following:
• Must have good or corrected vision as well as effective peripheral vision, depth perception, and
ability to adjust focus
• Must have good manual dexterity and be able to use repetitive motion of the hands and arms
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
• Must be able to move about inside the office and file rooms to perform a variety of tasks
• Must be able to frequently and effectively communicate in both written and verbal form
• Must be able to frequently lift 15 pounds and/or push/pull objects up to 50 pounds
• Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration (required)
• Minimum of 8 years of related accounting experience
• Knowledge of accounting software, Dynamics Great Plains a plus
• Certified Public Accountant designation required
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Duties are performed in an office setting where the work and general environment may be fast-paced and hectic at times. Therefore, it is essential that the employee can effectively handle the normal anxieties associated with the job and manage multiple projects in a service-oriented environment. Environmental noise levels are minimal.
