Fabricator/Assembler Opening, San Antonio, TX

Monday – Friday / 8am – 5pm.

Pay:
$14.00 hourly

Job Overview:
Material Handler Equipment Fabricator/Assembler.
In this role, you will be responsible for handling materials, fabricating components, and assembling equipment used in manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in fabrication, assembly, and material handling, as well as a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and quality.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Material Handling:
  • Receive, inspect, and organize raw materials and equipment in accordance with inventory control procedures.
  • Transport materials to production areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure materials are properly stored.
  • Ensure that production areas are stocked with necessary materials for fabrication and assembly.
Fabrication:
  • Fabricate and cut materials to specific dimensions using tools such as saws, drills, and welding equipment.
  • Work with various materials (metal, plastic, etc.) and fabricate custom parts as needed.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication of components.
Assembly:
  • Assemble equipment and components, ensuring all parts fit correctly and meet quality standards.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment to perform assembly tasks.
  • Perform inspections and quality checks to verify the accuracy and functionality of assembled equipment.
Maintenance and Safety:
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to comply with safety standards.
  • Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on equipment used in the fabrication and assembly process.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the efficient flow of materials and timely completion of projects.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and engineers regarding material requirements, progress, and issues.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.
  • Proven experience in material handling, fabrication, or assembly roles (2 years most recent preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Forklift certification or experience in material handling is a plus.
  • Basic welding, cutting, or other fabrication skills are preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to lift heavy materials and perform manual labor as required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
 
Work Environment:
  • Work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Use of heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and fumes typical of a manufacturing setting.
