Shift and Pay Details

- Pay Range: $17–$20 per hour
Job Summary
The Packer Lead will oversee packing operations at a food production facility, ensuring efficient production flow, accurate inventory allocation, and adherence to safety and quality standards. This position is critical to maintaining daily operational goals and ensuring compliance with food safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up packing equipment, utensils, and materials before production.
- Monitor the product flow through packing equipment to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Maintain and update inventory of packaging materials.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance with the Maintenance Team.
- Monitor and manage employee breaks to maintain workflow continuity.
- Train and direct personnel on safety procedures related to packing equipment and materials.
- Communicate company policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Assign and move personnel in the packing area to meet production demands effectively.
- Report food safety or quality concerns to the Production Manager immediately.
- Assist with sanitation duties, including cleaning and maintaining production equipment and areas.
- Perform other duties and cross-train in other areas as needed.
Required Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the food and beverage industry.
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Familiarity with sanitation protocols in food production.
- Experience using or maintaining packing equipment, such as Ross machines, Adco machines, and metal detectors.
- Exposure to spiral freezers or similar production equipment.
Required Skills
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents like safety rules, operating manuals, and procedures.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
- Occasionally required to balance or climb.
- Frequently lift and move up to 40 pounds.
