Summary/Objective
The Human Resource Manager is responsible for partnering with site operations and managing the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department in a regional office. Participates in the development and drives implementation of HR programs and initiatives that improve organizational effectiveness and employee engagement. The HR Manager plays a key role in fostering business partnerships with onsite leadership and coordinating strategic efforts in all areas of Human Resources. Reporting to the SVP People & Culture and supported by a centralized HR team in the San Antonio, TX headquarters, this individual is a member of the HR team and a key partner to operations, production, fulfillment, and customer service.
Essential Functions
- Partner with operations leaders and HR leadership to ensure successful execution of Company-sponsored employee engagement events and activities at the local level
- Provides support and guidance to managers regarding employee engagement and HR initiatives and programs
- Consult with leadership in the areas of workforce planning, recruitment, succession plans, employee relations, onboarding/assimilation performance, development, compensation, benefits, communications and overall people effectiveness
- Partner with corporate Human Resources (HR) to deliver HR processes and programs for alignment to business and company goals. Participate in key HR projects.
- Serves as the point person for employee engagement events; organizes and oversees employee events; negotiates contracts; maintains the annual employee events budget and partners with HQ to plan and execute local events
- Support the annual performance review process, annual benefits open enrollment and employee engagement programs as “boots on the ground” in Carol Stream
- Collaborate with business leaders and HR leadership team to support continuous improvement HR initiatives to ensure effective implementation and long-term sustainability. Identify new opportunities where HR can add value to the business
- Partner with business leaders and HR leadership to ensure ADA accommodations are reviewed and approved through the interactive process with employees
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s people and culture programs and systems
Job Duties:
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Support new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors
- Conducts employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations with support of HQ team
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintains compliance with all OSHA and related safety requirements

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field highly preferred
- At least seven years of proven success in a similar HR role required
- Experience working in a regional model and in a remote reporting structure strongly preferred
- SHRM-CP or PHR required, SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification a plus
- Bilingual, Spanish-speaking is desirable

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. Some weekends may be required.
Travel
Occasional travel to San Antonio is required. Approximately 10-15%.
