VIP Staffing North Dallas is hiring an Inventory Control Specialist for a client we have in the aviation and maritime industry!

Job Summary: This position manages the Customer Service inventory; ensuring proper inventory levels are maintained, reorder points are properly set and stagnant material is properly dispositioned. The role provides analysis on inventory levels and gives recommendations to management, acting as the single point of contact for Customer Service material needs. This dual role position assists the procurement team by being the liaison with Quality on incoming materials, needs and returns; including contacting suppliers for needed documentation, and ensuring returns are completed in a timely manner.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures Customer Service inventory has properly established stock levels and all material issues are properly addressed
  • Analyzes Customer Service inventory positions and makes recommendations to drive overall business efficiency and optimize inventory turns
  • Provides quotes and lead time to Customer Service and Operations personnel regarding material purchases
  • Purchases Customer Service material in support of Customer Service needs and inventory requirements
  • Purchases approved materials and services to meet MRP generated requirements or purchase requisitions
  • Maintains the integrity of information in the MRP system by ensuring all materials purchased have correct cost, lead time, manufacturer’s part number and any other applicable information. Makes any changes to the system as directed by the Materials Manager and maintains accurate delivery dates
  • Expedites materials as required by analyzing past due purchase orders and seeks manager approval for any additional costs that may be incurred because of the expediting activity
  • Assists the Materials Manager in the RFQ process for annual purchasing agreements and assists in the negotiation process
  • Creates and updates reports as needed by the Materials Manager and Customer Service Manager
  • Assists in the resolution of accounting discrepancies
  • Arranges the return of rejected material in coordination with Buyer(s) and QC
  • All other duties as assigned


  • Five (5) years of purchasing and inventory management experience
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both written and verbal
  • Must have strong analytical skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Must have a working knowledge of MRP systems
  • Ability to work overtime during peak workload conditions
  • Must maintain attention to detail and follow through on all work
  • Should be self-motivated, customer focused and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Must be a US Citizen or possess Permanent Legal Resident status
