Job Summary:
The Inventory Cycle Counter plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and process auditing. This position supports the achievement of production goals, helps meet customer expectations, and maximizes company profitability by ensuring inventory integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct physical inventories, cycle counts, and random inventory counts to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain accurate product identification and location tracking within the warehouse.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, recommend corrective actions, and resolve them promptly.
- Audit inventory-related processes, document findings, and present reports to leadership.
- Assist with inventory space planning based on product size and consumption rates.
- Report safety, quality, or process violations through appropriate channels.
- Cross-train and provide backup support for the Inventory Control Specialist role.
- Follow and support company quality policies, including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 (if applicable).
Required Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse or inventory management, preferred.
- Experience operating a sit-down forklift is a plus.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
- Associate degree in material management, logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
Required Skills:
- Strong mathematical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet applications.
- Ability to learn and operate within an ERP system.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience with quality systems like ISO 9001 or IATF 16949.
- Familiarity with inventory space planning strategies.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs, including filled pails or cases.
- Must be capable of safely operating a sit-down forklift.
- Flexibility to work overtime with minimal notice, as required.
Training Requirements:
- General Safety training (annually).
- Quality training and hazardous material handling as required.
