GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Supports administration, maintenance and deployment of related hardware and software of company’s network.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees the day to day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support
Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control and evaluation
Maintenance and administration of network switches routers and VOIP gateways.
Maintenance and administration of network monitoring utilities – Nagios, Open NMS and other related programs.
Maintenance and administration of SIP client and Asterisk server.
Maintenance and administration of network related hardware and software inventories and documentations.
Provide 2nd/3rd level problem call triage and resolution on local and remote sites network issues.
Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve network problems and related physical layer infrastructure.
Responding to network trouble tickets reported in Mantis ticketing system and service requests regarding SIP clients and other network related issues.
24/7 on-call support for Mission Critical Network issues.
Coordinate the installation, configuration and maintenance of network components.
Researches, analyzes and implements software or hardware changes to rectify any network issues.
Assesses network performance to ensure that it meets the present and future needs of the business.
Reviews facilities bandwidth requirements on routine basis and provides input to capacity planning activities.
Design and Document system processes to support network communication operations.
Implements network security procedures and makes recommendations for improvement.
Design and Develop scripts and programs to support network routine and related tasks.
Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: CompTIA, A+, Network +
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Configure and troubleshoot network devices and paths (e.g. SIP, telephony, data).
Troubleshooting network, desktop, hardware and software issues
Ability to work independently.
Knowledge of PC architecture and various hardware, software and network protocol.
Experience with Linux, Microsoft operating systems and telephony systems.
