- Shift: Sunday – Thursday, 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM
Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician Assistant supports maintenance activities in a dynamic distribution facility. This role involves assisting in repairs, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance on industrial-powered equipment, the conveyor system, and facility operations. You will work on multiple projects daily, ensuring the smooth functioning of equipment and systems essential to operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on industrial-powered equipment, conveyor systems, and the distribution facility.
- Complete assigned tasks and projects, documenting progress in logs.
- Inspect equipment, such as pallet riders, reach trucks, dock stockers, order pickers, and sit-down forklifts, to ensure proper functionality.
- Monitor vendor performance on conveyor and equipment maintenance tasks.
- Communicate project and task updates with the Assistant Facilities Manager.
Required Experience
- Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus on Mechanical or Electrical fields, OR 1+ year of equivalent experience in a related role.
- Proven ability to repair, troubleshoot, and conduct preventative maintenance on powered equipment.
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Experience working independently in a warehouse or industrial facility.
- Knowledge of vendor management for maintenance projects.
Required Skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in working independently and completing tasks with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with conveyor systems and powered industrial equipment.
- Record-keeping skills for maintenance logs.
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and repairing diverse equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to talk, hear, walk, and use hands.
- Frequent need to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely navigate ladders, gangways, and elevated work areas.
- Must adapt to the warehouse environment with varying temperatures and physical demands.
