MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN SUPERVISOR Opening, ALBUQUERQUE, NM

  • Maintain the inventory management system to control loss and ensure the availability of spare parts.

  • Use and maintain the CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) for maintaining, equipment, materials and other resources.

  • Conduct regular safety walk through in coordination with the Safety Coordinator and Plant Manager and implement effective corrective actions where necessary and directed. Own safety programs and/or procedures such as LOTO, working at heights, etc. Ownership includes managing training to the procedure and ensuring factory-wide compliance to requirements.

  • Serve as the point-of-contact for building owner lease obligations and seasonal upkeep.

  • Provide regular reports to Plant Manager as appropriate (KPI’s may include project status, availability by toolset, maintenance demand by toolset, unscheduled downtime, incidents, etc).

  • When possible, take on design and fabrication of special projects, including machine guarding, jigs/fixtures, and tools for manufacturing usage.

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Schedules preventative maintenance (PM’s) as recommended by equipment manufactures and or Plant Manager. When equipment recommendations are not available, be able to determine best methods and approach for ongoing maintenance, spares requirements and operation/replacement understanding.

  • Conducts preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize uptime of all equipment through equipment evaluations, design improvements and/or preventative maintenance routines.

  • Lead and advocate for long-term continuous improvement toward TPM.

  • Hire, train and supervise maintenance technicians. Manage team activities, task lists, and special projects to achieve best organizational development in support of our client’s mission and goals.

  • Coordinate maintenance support coverage to meet the needs of production shifts, including filling in during shifts as necessary to maintain coverage.

  • Collaborate with equipment owners to control operational settings, identify poka-yoke opportunities, and establish equipment specific maintenance practices.

  • Develop work instructions as necessary for routine maintenance of all equipment.

  • Manage equipment install, retrofit and demolition projects as requested by equipment owners and Management.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum 5 years experience working in a

  • production environment. Must have electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical experience.

Skills:

Must have troubleshooting and problem resolution experience. Must be a good communicator and have computer skills. Preferred aptitude in pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC.

  • Training Required:

  • On-site orientation and training will be provided for specific and custom equipment.

Other:

  • Must have the ability to work overtime and shift work.
