The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the complete field installation, startup, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of company-supplied equipment across various products. This role may also involve planning, scheduling, coordinating, cost control, and supervising company employees in performing the work, depending on the terms of the contract or project. Additionally, the Field Service Engineer will document all job activities and is expected to become proficient in basic systems technologies.
Key Responsibilities and Duties/Essential Functions:
- Lead complex equipment trial runs, investigative tests, repairs, and overhauls.
- Utilize software tools proficiently and demonstrate a strong affinity for working with them.
- Analyze and interpret large amounts of complex data, including bug reports and production data.
- Perform complex and technically demanding work within a specialized technical area.
- Troubleshoot potential problems and provide effective solutions related to the application of concepts, techniques, knowledge, or processes.
Expected Hours of Work:
- Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, or as assigned by the supervisor based on customer requirements.
Physical Demands:
- The role requires the ability to position oneself to work on equipment at customer sites, including bending, standing, lying on the floor, and leaning to access parts of a machine.
- Employees must be able to move from place to place, remain in one position for extended periods, communicate with others, and exchange information.
- The job may involve lifting or moving machine parts or other items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Self-starter with minimal supervision needed.
- Excellent hands-on skills and ability to navigate complex problems.
- Strong analytical background.
- Good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; intermediate to advanced Spanish skills are a plus.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Minimum of an associate degree in a STEM-related discipline.
