SUMMARY OF JOB
Packages all products in the manufacturing Dept. to minimize downtime by freeing up Machine Operators to perform all other duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Package product in accordance with the product Spec ensuring that the counts are correct and the correct wire ties or boxes are being used.
Visually inspects product for defects and notify the Line Leader or Supervisor of any problems or suspicious product.
Notify the Line Leader or Supervisor immediately if any process or product problems are encountered.
Help to maintain the cleanliness of the plant whenever possible.
Help to pick up all scrap.
Other duties as assigned.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as product packaging specs, work instructions, safety policies, policy handbook and product specification sheets.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure: whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

While performing the position of PACKAGER, the employee would frequently be required to carry loads up to and including 54 lbs. and the employee would occasionally be required to carry loads up to and including 65 lbs. It is frequently necessary to bend, crouch and push/pull. It is also occasionally necessary to squat, reach above shoulder level, and kneel. The job requires no repetitive movement of the feet. Grasping with the right hand is necessary. Grasping with the left hand is necessary. The position of EXTRUSION PACKAGER also requires: being around moving machinery (Extrusion Equipment). In a 12-hour day, the employee can expect to stand about 60% and to walk about 40% of the time. The employee can be exposed to wet/humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level should be considered loud.
