Currently seeking a Materials Engineer for a manufacturing company in San Antonio. This is a Direct Hire position. Salary is $104,000 to $126,000 annually (based on experience). 

The Materials Engineer is responsible for evaluating new materials, processes and suppliers. Helps support our global product offerings and manufacturing teams for material issues. Consults with Product Groups on materials related issues and is a key technical member of the R&D team. Applies seasoned technical knowledge to various product development projects related to materials and material processing.

Requirements: 

• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Materials Science or Polymer Science 

• Seeking at least 7 yrs. experience in material science/engineering 

• Working knowledge of thermoplastics, polymers and/or composite laminates preferred

• Extrusion experience preferred 

• Interpret data and provide recommendations 

• Testing, developing, troubleshooting 

• Quality Control testing 

• Cost management and budgeting 

• Evaluation of economic viability of material for production 

• CAD experience preferred but not required

• Some travel required
