Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Brake Press Operator to set up, program, and operate CNC brake press machines for precision metal fabrication. The ideal candidate will have experience interpreting blueprints, adjusting machine settings, and ensuring high-quality output. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate CNC brake press machines to bend, form, and shape metal components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and job specifications to determine bending sequences and tolerances.
  • Program brake press machines by entering commands and adjusting settings for material type, thickness, and bend angles.
  • Load raw materials onto the machine, ensuring proper alignment and clamping.
  • Conduct test runs and inspect first-run parts to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Make adjustments to machine settings, tooling, and back gauges to optimize quality and efficiency.
  • Measure and inspect finished products using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following OSHA safety guidelines and company procedures.
Required Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Brake Press Operator in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate CNC brake press machines and adjust settings for different materials and bends.
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical blueprints and schematics.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
  • Familiarity with CNC programming for brake press machines.
  • Experience working with various metals such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Background in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement processes.
Required Skills:
  • Brake press operation and setup skills.
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation of technical specifications.
  • Precision measurement using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Preferred Skills:
  • Basic computer programming knowledge for CNC press brake operation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Good mathematical skills for precise calculations and bend angle adjustments.
Education & Certifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certificate or diploma in metal fabrication, machining, or a related field is a plus.
  • Completed apprenticeship in metal fabrication or CNC machining is preferred.
