Product Engineer
A product engineer is responsible for the design, creation and troubleshooting of manufactured products. This position works intimately with sales, customers and operations. Products must meet objectives for safety, health, quality, manufacturability and cost.
Primary Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:

Work closely with cross-functional team to conceptualize and develop new products

Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturability issues with regards to safety, quality, productivity and cost

Troubleshoot and resolve product complaints
-
Help drive Continuous Improvement initiatives for safety, quality, efficiency and cost

Prepares, analyzes, selects, modifies and evaluates engineering designs, drawings, specifications, bill of materials and cost estimates for raw materials and products
-
Identify improvements in equipment, processes or inspection technologies necessary to assure manufacturability and cost competitiveness.

Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, or maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems or processes to meet requirements of plant operations.

Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.

Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs.

Assist in the development and implementation of operational department training material.

Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions.

Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.

Design test control apparatus or equipment or develop procedures for testing products.

Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applications.

Coordinate prototype submissions with relevant personnel for approval

Help analyze market and industry trends and conditions

Help analyze feasibility, cost, and return on investment for product ideas
Minimum Qualifications:
-
BS in Engineering preferably in Chemical, Metallurgical or Mechanical

OSHA 30 certification
-
Curiosity for learning
-
Creative and innovative approaches to resolving customer problems

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision

Proficiency with computers and Microsoft software (AX, Dynamics, Office)

Critical thinking and analytical skills
