General Summary:

The Production Coordinator is the acting liaison between our client’s organization and the supervisory shift staff to ensure proper staffing, skills and job priorities to ensure shift performance in quality, productivity, on-time delivery, safety and production floor organization (5S, cleanliness, procedure compliance, etc.) are met. This Production Coordinator interfaces between shift supervisors and our client’s management team to provide strategic direction on improving long-term shift performance (quality, safety and output) and tactical day-to-day requirements to meet immediate goals.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for assigned shift(s) production changes needed on a daily basis by reconciling production master schedule, shipping calendar and organizational priorities to scheduled resources. Collaborate with the shift supervisors for modifying shift priorities when shortage of labor exists and if necessary, request additional labor from staffing agencies.

  2. Track and maintain the performance of temporary employees assigned to our client’s and communicate to the staffing agencies on performance issues that require improvement.

  3. Interface with our client’s organization to coordinate, plan and communicate daily work responsibilities to the Production Supervisors & Leads across assigned manufacturing shift(s).

  4. Participate in required quality excursions (CAPA’s) such that effective root cause and corrective actions can be determined by the CAPA team. As necessary, investigate issues on assigned shift(s) to understand problem statement, identify root cause and ensure any corrective actions are being properly communicated and instituted across assigned shifts.

  5. Escalate to manager and/or our client’s staff when policy compliance or safety issues exist.

  6. Ensure manufacturing personnel, supervisors and leads have a complete and thorough knowledge of all the workstations, procedural requirements (SOPs) equipment functionality within the production area by establishing a strategy for cross-training in all key areas to sufficiently support manufacturing and business goals.

Assist shift supervisors in utilizing the training matrix to track qualified personnel, establishing a peer trainer system and on allocating resources in key areas to meet shift objectives in quality,

  1. productivity, factory cleanliness and procedural compliance.

  2. Review each assigned shift(s) pass down for understanding of production problems, if any, and communicate to upper management on necessary improvements, changes and support necessary to facilitate shift objectives.

  3. Routinely monitor the production floor across all assigned shift(s) and note any non-conformances to safety and/or 5S expectations.

  4. Ensure adequate participation for the First Responder program across all assigned shift(s) and make recommendations on personnel to fill available slots.

Engage routinely with production supervisors, leads and technicians to obtain feedback & ideas on how to improve our client’s organization. Such feedback includes improvements to work conditions, manufacturing efficiency, quality and/or general organization improvements. Recommend solutions, priorities and opportunity to management for consideration of solution implementation.

Education and Experience: High school education or GED, minimum 5 years manufacturing experience.


Must have computer and typing skills. Must have advanced demonstrated ability with tools, materials and machine operations.
