Purchasing Manager – Direct Hire (Located On Site at HQ)
Department: Operations
Reports to: Director of Procurement
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
- Assess and mitigate risks to supply and inventory.
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
- Monitor, manage, and forecast inventory levels versus demand from sales and production.
- Process purchase orders; develop bids and proposals; and reconcile any invoice discrepancies.
- Ensure that all contract administration procedures are followed and executed in a professional manner.
- Ensure supply continuity and chemical compliance.
- Preparation of Purchase Orders including the verification of product specifications and price
- Expected to manage budgets, control cost, and schedule of all purchases.
- Develops and implements quality assurance/quality control measures for existing products.
- Assists in the regulatory reporting requirements for products.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven working experience as Purchasing Manager, agent, or officer.
- Familiarity with Sourcing and Vendor Management
- Ability and demonstrated track record of negotiating deals or contracts as well as networking.
Technical Skills:
- Ability to research and interpret technical resources.
- Interest in market dynamics to analytically understand the impact on business.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw conclusions from purchasing data and trends.
- Working experience with MRP software.
- Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills.
- Solid judgment along with decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher required experience. Minimum of five (5) years of supply chain, logistics, or chemical sales/purchasing experience.
- Experience in quality assurance/quality control and general chemistry is preferred.
- Experience in working with multiple discipline projects.
- NetSuite experience (Preferred)
Work Environment:
- Location of position: Corporate Headquarters
- May work in Field / Race Environment
- Travel is required at times
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required
- Background checks and drug tests required
- Work will generally be performed in an office environment.
- May be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils.
- May be required to work hours other than the regular schedule.
