Quality Assurance Opening, San Antonio, TX

What You Will Do:

  • Work with the Enterprise Technology QA Team on software development projects and systems reviews of varying magnitude.

  • Follow uniform testing procedures in the development and execution of test scripts, defect reporting, and testing collaboration tasks.

  • Participate in Requirements reviews (Business, Technical, Functional, and Design) to evaluate and generate test cases.

  • Author detailed test cases matching documented scenarios in Test Plan meeting prescribed test scripting requirements.

  • Perform peer review on new and/or updated scripts prior to execution.

  • Execute test scripts and report results in current test management software.

  • Prepare and/or locate test data to meet test case criteria.

  • Meet script execution goals as outlined and directed by QA lead(s).

  • Update and maintain test scripts following standard test formatting.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including our Automation Team to develop effective automated test strategies, scripts, and test plans.

  • Identify, validate, and report defects. Verify defect fixes and/or system enhancements.

  • Communicate with software development teams and provides defect troubleshooting assistance and resolution.

  • Participate in team or project meetings as directed by Management and QA Lead(s).

  • Report individual work progress, test status, or issues to QA Lead(s).

  • Validate changes migrated to all test environment(s) appropriately, and/or new environment(s) connectivity.

  • Confirm environment test readiness for various Quality Assurance test phases.

  • Documents results and uses designated systems and tools to track outcomes.

  • May present outcomes to team(s).

  • Document team processes for Quality Control Department.

  • Participate in the creation of materials for and process of training and onboarding new Quality Control resources.

  • Completes any other job-related duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organization’s Values.

What We Will Require:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or Business-related field or comparable education or comparable experience.

  • Minimum of one (1) year working experience with software development lifecycle and quality assurance principles and methodologies.

  • Understanding of structured environments for development, test and production.

  • Experience or training with one or more of the following tools: Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Microsoft Project or similar tools.

  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly adaptive and flexible to a changing environment.

  • Able to prioritize, plan, organize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience with test management and testing tools such as HP ALM (Quality Center) or equivalent.

  • Self-motivated and ability to motivate others.

  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

  • Identify opportunities to maximize operational efficiencies.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes Quality Assurance methodologies to support the delivery of quality products that meet client specifications with minimum defects, on-time, and on-budget. Assists with post implementation validation or support testing with the Line of Business.

  • Assist with the training for testers on all systems, applications, and tools used for Quality Assurance operations and project testing requirements.

  • Remains up-to-date of credit union policies, procedures, products and practices.
