Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- Accounting Experience 5+ years
- Possess strong problem-solving skills
- Manufacturing/Job Costing experience a plus
- Experience with deferred revenue calculations a plus
Summary:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for carrying out all day-to-day accounting functions while working closely with operations and accounting to ensure company objectives are met. The position will report directly to the Corporate Controller and the President. The Senior Accountant is responsible for generating accurate and timely financial statements as well as the monthly job WIP schedule. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated person with the ability to communicate effectively and work well within a small team.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare the monthly WIP schedule used to track job completion percentages
- Work closely with project managers to ensure the accuracy of WIP schedule
- Prepare monthly journal entries, deferred revenue entries and COGS entries
- Responsible for generating AR billing and applying customer payments
- Oversee Accounts Payable, generate checks and bank transfers as needed
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements and submit to Controller for review
- Prepare and submit monthly sales tax returns
- Assist the Controller with other accounting related duties as requested
