Currently seeking a Shop Worker for a glass shop in San Antonio.
Pay is $16-$18/hr. depending on experience
Shift is Mon-Fri 7am-4pm
Duties:
- Fabricate storefront frames in shop for customers
- Cut, shape, and fabricate glass according to specifications
- Install glass in various applications, including windows, doors, and custom projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders
- Operate and maintain glass fabrication equipment and tools, ensuring safety and efficiency
- Measure and mark glass for cutting and installation
- Repair and replace broken glass in existing structures
- Measuring and cutting glass: Using measuring tools, blueprints, and specifications to determine the size, shape, and thickness of glass
- Removing old glass: Removing existing glass and putty from frames
- Inspecting work: Checking that the finished product is free of defects
- Using tools: Use shop tools to fabricate glass to specs, basic hand and power tools
- Machine operation: Operate CNC machines to cut and fabricate glass
- Repairs: Fix/repair broken panes, and ensure glass is sealed to be watertight
- Warehouse duties: Place finished products in holding area of warehouse, receive material and distribute to departments within shop, prepare finished products for installation and or shipment
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a fabrication shop
- Must be able to follow instructions
- Proficient in using hand and power tools related to glass cutting and installation
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds
