System Admin II:

• Hands on experience with IBM ZSeries operating system.

• Responsible for managing, upgrading and fixing the operating system

• This role is remote BUT will need to travel to san Antonio, tx when needed. Travel expense are paid for

• Looking for candidate that is willing to work 5-10years.  

• Rate 120-130K

What We Will Require:

Working knowledge with z/Series operating environments. Networking fundamentals experience, preferably IBM medium to large system mainframes. Working knowledge in z/OS, ISPF, TSO, JCL and VSAM (SMPE is a plus). Some Transaction system products, Connect: Direct and CA Technologies’ products experience. Good interpersonal, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. Able to read and understand complex technical documents and periodicals. Ability to work in a team environment, meet deadlines, and take on a high level of responsibility and accountability. Willingness to work under close guidance of tenured staff during on the job training. Provide seven day a week, twenty-four hour a day support. Availability for periodic travel to work-site locations

Additional Job Responsibilities:

Researches, plans, tests, and implements backup and disaster recovery strategies. Researches technology changes and analyzes impact on current system environments. Informs management and other areas in Information Technology of changes and new software features. Provides direction and guidance to System Administrator I with daily tasks. Provides technical consulting to Information Technology staff and business partners. Participates in short and long-range planning for the department to select and utilize appropriate technologies to meet the evolving needs of the organization and its members. Stays current with technology changes and learns the tools and products that support the z/Series environment. Assists with disaster recovery exercises.
