System Administrator Opening, San Antonio, TX

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installs, maintains and upgrades internal computer hardware, peripherals, and software systems.

  • network/server/desktop issues

  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves mission critical peripheral device issues including, thermal printers, desktop laser printers, optical and barcode scanning devices, and wireless AP network devices.

  • Controls user access and passwords

  • Administration and maintenance of Active Directory and GP environment.

  • Plans and implements moves, adds and change requests

  • Proposes and implements systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system

  • Monitors network and hardware usage and performance

  • Assists with recommending, scheduling and implementing system hardware and/or software upgrades or repairs

  • Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware products to improve business efficiency and performance

  • Partners with Managers to implement desktop and network projects

  • Interface with 3rd party software and service providers to support company end-users.

  • Provides new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and organizational growth.

  • Proactively administers and monitors the networks of production environment to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability.

  • Other related duties assigned as needed

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Extensive experience providing end-user support both on-site and using remote management tools

  • Strong knowledge of implementing and utilizing remote network management and monitoring tools. (Fortinet, VPN)

  • Experience configuring, implementing, and supporting network operating systems: Windows 2008/2008R2/2012/2016

  • Experience configuring, implementing, and supporting Windows desktop operating systems (Windows 7/10)

  • Experience configuring, implementing, and supporting Windows AD environment

  • Experience configuring, implementing, and supporting MS Office, Outlook/Exchange (o365),

  • Experience with supporting various server applications (SQL, IIS, etc.)
