Advanced Level TAC/Field Engineer
Job Summary
This Position is responsible for installations and design of networks, network hardware and software. Checking and responding to incoming client tickets and Phone calls. As well as diagnoses and resolves technical hardware and software issues for network devices, user set-up and removal, performs a variety of maintenance, end-user support, and support tasks to ensure end-user workstations and network performance meet company and user requirements. Documents and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution.
This position also requires the engineer to make site visits as necessary to install and service network equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The engineer will assist in installations and design of networks, network hardware and software. Respond to support requests (i.e., telephone, e-mail, support-portal, and personnel requests) to resolve technical issues. Prioritize tickets so to quickly resolve them in a timely manner. Document actions during the ticket resolution. Resolving issues and installations may require the engineer to complete the task onsite at the customers location.
Stay current with Voice solutions, IT environment, changes, and updates. Identify and escalate problem tickets and urgent situations. Resolving more complex issues requiring detailed systems and applications knowledge. Ability to perform network performance issue that effects the client base which may include working with servers, firewall, switches, modems, phones, other devices, software, and software applications. Keep work area and equipment room organized. Notify manager of lack of resources. Identify issues and suggest operational improvements. Actively contribute to ongoing process improvement. Ability to complete multiple simultaneous projects in a timely manner. Work as a team with co-workers to educated and gain knowledge.
Technical Skills
Previously worked in MSP environment. Set up of new Azure environments. Microsoft Server (set up & configuration) experience, upgrades and migrating information to a new server including Exchange (group policies, upgrades, able to navigate active directory without assistance), domain setup, SQL Server. Working knowledge in Microsoft 365 (including migrations). Ransomware remediation experience. Experience and knowledge of VMWare, virtualized solutions. Datto, Kaseya and Sophos knowledge a plus.
Knowledge of the design, installation, and support all aspects of Network Solutions, VoIP, LANs & WANs. Knowledge of the installation & configuration routers, firewalls, switches (layer 2 & layer 3), and wireless access points for customer applications. Working experience on all aspects of IT from desktop support to server & network administration.
