Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Vinyl Machine Technician to join our sign manufacturing shop in Cedar Hill, TX. This role involves safely and efficiently operating vinyl machinery, preparing materials, and ensuring high-quality finished goods. This is a long-term, temp-to-hire opportunity for individuals with strong technical skills and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create cut and print files from client-provided drawings.
- Safely operate vinyl machinery for material processing.
- Set up machines, adjust tooling, and replace consumables.
- Perform daily mechanical troubleshooting and resolve minor issues.
- Read and interpret measurements, plans, and work orders.
- Recognize defective materials and ensure scrap utilization.
- Package materials according to customer specifications.
- Pull, stage, and prepare materials for shipping.
- Manage scrap remnants efficiently to minimize waste.
- Accurately confirm work orders on paper and in computer systems.
- Move supplies and materials as needed.
- Maintain maximum productivity and quality standards for finished goods.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
Required Experience:
- Previous experience operating vinyl machines in a manufacturing or sign production setting.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in operating and troubleshooting vinyl cutting and printing machines.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings and measurements.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail for high-quality output.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with material handling and packaging.
- Knowledge of scrap management and waste reduction techniques.
- Basic proficiency with computer systems for work order confirmations.
Must Have Experience:
- Prior experience in sign manufacturing environments.
- Working knowledge of vinyl graphics processes and related tool
