Weld Shop Manager – Operations Pay Range $75,000.00 – $95,000.00

JOB DESCRIPTION:
A: Purpose and Scope
The Weld Shop Manager shall plan, coordinate and manage personnel to be efficient with their job duties and maintain machinery upkeep and provide a clean environment and safe work conditions and motivational leader.
B. Responsibilities
Operation and maintenance of robotic weld machinery.
Apply specialized application of hardface material utilizing plasma transfer application (pta).
Train, supervise and coordinate activities of workers in the Hardband Welding process.
Analyze work orders, blueprints to determine the need for supplies and sequence of events.
Requisition supplies, such as PTA powders, gas flux.
Inspects work to ensure specified standards and quality.
Responsible for hiring and training workers in operations of equipment.
Setup equipment for trial welds or test runs and experimental process.
Stay up-to-date with new techniques and/or materials used in Hardband Weld processes.
C. Organization Relationships
The Weld Shop Manager, regardless of other duties, reports directly to the US Operations Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience work experience in utilizing hardband welding techniques as well as specialized application of hardface material, utilizing PTA (plasma transfer application); creating carbide tile bearings.
Experience with operating and programming robotic weld equipment.
Strong leadership, supervisory skills, organizational, problem solving, and project management skills.
Ability to read Blueprints and engineering fabrication drawings.
Working knowledge of metal fabrication environment.
Working knowledge of material specifications.
Familiarity with OSHA standards.

F. Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is exposed to noise levels that maintain under standard levels. Proper protective equipment is required, including steel toe boots, safety glasses. Ear plugs are available.
G. Other
The Weld Shop Manager is responsible to and shall be held accountable for the performance of all assigned duties by the US Operations Manager. This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee. He/she will be required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other directly related appropriate duties requested by his/her supervisor.
