THANKS AND GIVING IN THE WORKPLACE
Thanksgiving is a time to show gratitude and spend time with friends and family. It can also be an opportunity for companies to recognize the individuals and teams that have worked hard all year to support the organization. As an employer, consider taking time this Thanksgiving season to foster a sense of togetherness, acknowledge hard work, and show thanks to employees and team members. Here are some ways to show your spirit of Thanksgiving:
Group Outing
Treat employees to an off-site activity. Whether it’s bowling, attending a sporting event or participating in a local tour, everyone will appreciate the change in scenery and the opportunity to socialize outside the workplace.
Food, glorious food!
Nothing says “thank you” like food. Instead of donuts in the break room, have a special holiday lunch or breakfast catered in for employees.
Potluck and Prizes
If catering isn’t an option, host a potluck meal where employees can show off their culinary skills. Offer prizes for the best recipes.
Give them the chance to give back
Allow employees to dedicate work time to volunteer activities and support their efforts. Or, coordinate a group volunteer project such as a clothing drive, Habitat for Humanity building, or serving meals at a shelter.
Wall of Thanks
Dedicate a bulletin board or wall where employees can post notes of appreciation and gratitude. Management should take the initiative with messages to individuals, teams or unsung heroes in the workplace.
At VIP Staffing, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve you!
