HR Generalist (Benefits and HRIS) Opening, San Antonio, TX

Job Summary:
Employee Benefits Program: In this role, you will provide excellent customer service and design quality benefits plans, continually investigate new health & wellness programs, improve existing programs, maintain compliance processes, and supervise benefits administration, leaves of absence and work accommodations processes for our San Antonio HQ, retail, and remote manufacturing location.
 
Human Resource Information System (HRIS): You will support and maintain the organization’s HRIS applications and modules. As the system’s subject matter expert, your ongoing support to the organization will be key to a successful system utilization. This is included, but not limited to reviewing and processing bi-weekly payroll, auditing records, deliver HR reporting using our HRIS system, and bringing data as well as meaningful insights.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Benefits (Health & Wellness)
  • Research employee benefits plans and vendors to identify those that present the best value and fit for the organization. 
  • Design, recommend and implement new programs. Examine possible plan designs and benefits cost changes. 
  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. 
  • Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration. 
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, retirement plan, and compliance reviews of all plans. 
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits data and update employee payroll records.
  • Audit vendor invoices for accuracy. 
  • Perform plan audits. Prepare, collect and organize data for annual 5500 compliance filings.
  • Provide customer service support and develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package. 
  • Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions.
  • Manage all leave of absence and medical accommodation programs.
HRIS
  • Oversees and maintains optimal function of the HRIS, which may include installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade to applications, systems, and modules.
  • Partners with HRIS support team for technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS users.
  • Manages permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HRIS users.
  • Compiles or assists with the acquisition of complex data reports, summaries, and logs.
  • Serves as lead representative and liaison between HR, information services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HRIS design and implementation projects.
  • Ensures system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in HRIS providers, vendors, and technology.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Familiarity with human resource policies and procedures to ensure the Health & Wellness Program and HRIS meets organizational needs and goals.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • At least five years of related experience is highly preferred. 
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desirable.
  • Paylocity experience is highly desirable 
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
