Payroll Processor Opening, San Antonio, TX

POSITION SUMMARY:
With guidance from the Payroll Administrator, the Payroll Processor will assist with the biweeklyprocessing of payroll for our nonprofit client.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists in analyzing, preparing and inputting payroll data for the Association to produce an accurateand timely bi-weekly payroll using UKG.2. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.3. Enters new-hire information with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.4. Assists in maintaining the payroll and HRIS records and compiling reports from database.5. Approves changes to employee records in payroll system submitted through the workflow process.6. Enters new hire and pay rate data into the payroll system of the Association.7. Provides reports, information, and training to appropriate branch staff to ensure payroll accuracy.8. Maintains internal records and staff files according to legal retention requirements.9. Facilitates management and employee understanding of payroll procedures.10. Verifies employment and salary requests with the client within guidelinesestablished by client.11. Answers staff member inquiries regarding paychecks, accessing paycheck stubs online, W-2 access,etc.12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of two years experience working with an automated payroll processing system andpayroll administration with UKG (HRIS) strongly preferred.2. Experience processing payroll for 1,000+ employees is preferred.3. Understanding of tax requirements and Texas Pay Day Law necessary.4. Proven skills in leadership, relationship management, project management, group facilitation,problem solving, teambuilding, coordinating, and communication.5. Must have the ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information at all times.6. Knowledge and/or experience with UKG and other contemporary computer software programs.7. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments ofthe community.8. Must understand the basic concepts of a voluntary, non-profit organization, as well as thestructure of the YMCA as a partnership of volunteers and staff, and accept a commitment to theYMCA mission.9. Employee must have working knowledge of a UKG, Gmail, and Microsoft Office Suite.10. Certifications required within the first week of hire: Bloodborne Pathogens, Defensive Driving, andHazardous Communications.11. Certifications required within the first 60 days of hire: basic life saving skills suchas CPR, First Aid, AED, and Emergency Oxygen.12. Must be at least 21 years of age and have a Texas Driver’s license as well as capacity to drive tovarious locations within the greater San Antonio metropolitan area.WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Work is performed in a fast-paced office environment. Position requires attending meetings atdifferent off-site locations.2. Visual acuity is required for reading computer screens and/or documents and making changes asnecessary/required.3. Job requires high levels of alertness and concentration. This position requires analytical abilitiesand multitasking in order to identify problems and recommend solutions.4. Job requires accuracy and attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills, whilemaintaining high levels of initiative in order to work within deadlines.5. Incumbent must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time, as well as, able to manipulatekeyboards, telephone keypads, and writing utensils is essential.
