Maintenance Mechanic

Our Downtown area client is seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic for their busy manufacturing facility


Maintenance Technician should possess the skills to safely troubleshoot, perform routine maintenance and change out parts on equipment while following all safety rules and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Observe all the company’ safety rules and procedures, report any hazardous conditions

  • Makes himself/herself available for overtime and weekends when required

  • Makes himself/herself available for call outs when required

  • Protects the integrity of the building, operated equipment, and company property

  • Observe good housekeeping habits by keeping work area clean and cleared from hazards at all times.

  • Complete tasks as scheduled by the maintenance supervisor.


Duties and Responsibilities associated with Maintenance

  • Must be equipped with and know proper use of personal tools.

  • Basic knowledge of mechanic, electrician, plumber, and painter.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues with equipment.

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, such as grease bearings or change hydraulic fluid. Record data on compressors to assure operating in proper parameters.

Education and/or experience

  • High school diploma or GED is desirable. Five years maintenance experience in production atmosphere.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks

Language Skills

  • Ability to communicate and work safely with co-workers

  • Ability to read/write feedback on work orders.

Attendance demands

  • Excellent attendance record and punctuality is required

  • Ability to work any shift assigned

  • Ability to be on call day/night.

  • Availability to work overtime during week, weekends or holidays as business needs may require it.

Physical demands

  • Walk on concrete or other hard surfaces for 8 or more hours

  • Ability to pull/lift unassisted items up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to lift items over 50 pounds with assistance from a co-worker

  • Exposure to hot and cold temperatures: this position requires you to work in a non controlled temperature warehouse.

  • Noise level in work areas can be loud, ear protection will be provided

Pay: $18/hr.
