AVP Mortgage Originations Opening, San Antonio, TX

What You Will Do:

Responsible for preparing and submitting the strategic plans associated with the retail mortgage loan officer and advisor team to the Vice President Mortgage Services.

 

Required to execute the initiatives outlined in the strategic/corporate plan associated with retail mortgage origination.

 

Managing and leading the retail mortgage loan officer and advisor team to attain established mortgage loan production goals for all mortgage loan products.

 

Primary point of contact for Branch and Member Contact Center Management and staff.

 

Management of the indirect mortgage origination-lending channel.

 

Interacts with Mortgage Services Leadership team to develop, implement, and maintain procedures to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements and credit union established policies.

 

Works with Mortgage Services Leadership team to ensure processes and workflow are streamlined and efficient thus enabling mortgage origination staff to provide exceptional member service while minimizing operating costs and maximizing operating efficiencies.

 

The Mortgage Origination Team handles incoming member mortgage inquiries, makes outbound mortgage origination calls, handles member mortgage loans from NMLS registered Branch/Member Contact Center staff, and manages the online mortgage loan application channel.

 

Directs the originations team to foster and build relationships with the Realtor and Builder community.

 

Works collaboratively with the Business Development staff to establish, foster, and maintain business relationships as a resource to mortgage loan originations.

 

Monitors individual and team performance in accordance with Management established benchmarks, reports and results and makes modifications as required.

 

Conducts active call monitoring of mortgage originations staff to ensure quality of member service and compliance with state and federal regulations governing mortgage loan origination.

 

Reviews member service surveys and reports results to the Vice President Mortgage Services.

 

Coaches, counsels, and trains origination staff to attain individual and team production and quality performance goals on a consistent and ongoing basis.

 

Ensures mortgage origination staff comply with the terms/provisions of the Secure and Fair Enforcement of Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (S.A.F.E. Act) requirements.

 

Completes any other job related duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organization’s Values.

 

What We Require:

High school diploma or equivalent.

 

10> years of mortgage experience

 

Current knowledge of Federal, State and NCUA regulations and statutes pertaining to real estate lending, typically acquired through experience in mortgage underwriting, production and operations.

 

Minimum of seven (7) years of management experience in a mortgage lending operation.

 

Strong motivation and management skills required to lead an experienced mortgage loans sales team, geared to meet production goals and provide exemplary member service.

 

Knowledge of computer systems including mortgage loan production (LPS) systems and Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.

 

Completion, within three full months of employment in this role, federal registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator as required by the S.A.F.E. Act.

 

Must maintain active registration while in this role and comply with all requirements of the S.A.F.E. Act, including but not limited to, providing their unique identifier and ensuring the Registry is updated with significant changes (i.e., name changes and reportable changes to legal or regulatory actions) within 30 days and must update employment and personal information in the Registry as required.

 

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business management, finance, or business administration.

 

  • Well-organized and outstanding time management skills.

 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of State, Federal, and NCUA regulations governing mortgage loan origination.
