Our Northeast Houston area client has an immediate opening for a 2nd shift Electrical Maintenance Mechanic.
Maintains and inspect equipment.
Use basic electrical knowledge: troubleshoot blown fuses, tripped overloads, push buttons, limit switches, etc.
Interpret, understand, and trouble shoots relay logic ladder diagrams, with the ability to trace circuits in the absence of diagrams.
Test a variety of AC and DC circuits ranging from 12v to 480v, using a volt meter.
Installs conduit, disconnects, contactors, and MCCs.
Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair power transmission systems including chains and sprockets, bearings, and gearboxes. Removes broken bolts, determines thread diameter and pitch and repairs, threads and aligns pumps and motor shafts.
Maintain and ensure safe operation of electrical cords, gas lines, oxygen lines, HVAC filters, and oven filters.
Keep maintenance area clean and organized including parts storage area, maintain inventory control of parts.
Employee is responsible for providing their own tool which must be in good working condition.
Perform other duties assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Ability to operate Defum, Betts, and Bullard Boring Mills, per job cards, drawings and procedure.
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers, Vernier calipers and tape measure.
Is certified and the ability to safely operate a lift truck up to 40,000 pound lift capacity.
Is certified and the ability to safely operate the overhead crane.
Ability to safely operate hand tools such as: grinder, hammer, wrench and pry bar.
Ability to read prints and drawings.
Understands metric measurements and standard measurements.
Basic reading, writing, and mathematics skills.
Ability to work well with others including all levels of management.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbal and written.
High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Knowledge of and experience with safely operating standard hand and power tools used in mechanical electrical jobs.
Basic understanding of hydraulic circuits including; pumps, directional control valves, and cylinders.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with maintenance experience.
AAS in Automation Controls or related field preferred.
Pay Rate: $20 – $23 / hr.
