mortgage processing or underwriting experience with the most current knowledge of Conventional, VA, and FHA guidelines. Must receive and maintain registration as required by the Secure and Fair Enforcement of Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (S.A.F.E. Act). Microsoft Office and loan processing systems. Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills. Able to plan, organize, and prioritize daily tasks with minimal supervision. Independent judgment in resolving routine loan issues and confers with an Underwriter and/or member of Mortgage Management as deemed necessary on complex non-routine loans. Work in a high-volume environment. Able to function in a high volume environment and within time constraints while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. High level of professionalism and confidentiality of sensitive information. Work independently and work flexible hours as needed, including possible weekends.

Well versed in secondary market, private mortgage insurance, VA, FHA, and state/federal regulations governing mortgage origination. Thorough knowledge and understanding of federal, state and NCUA regulations. Take responsibility and perform work utilizing independent judgment and initiative.

Communicates with member, Realtor, builder and various companies to obtain property survey, appraisal, flood certification, title commitment and insurance policy and all other necessary information to meet closing requirements. Apprises member, loan officer and realtor(s) of loan status. Prepares loan for closing and submits file to the closing department. Under the discretion of Management, may be granted limited loan authority and be required to perform basic tasks and functions of an underwriter. Works closely with closing area to resolve any processing issues that may arise.
