EXPERIENCE:

• ASSEMBLY: 5 OR MORE YEARS (PREFERRED)

• COMPONENT TESTING: 3 YEARS (PREFERRED)

• COMPONENT LEVEL TROUBLESHOOTING: 3 YEARS (PREFERRED)

• ELECTRICAL WIRING: 3 YEARS (PREFERRED)

• QUALITY CONTROL: 3 YEARS (PREFERRED)

• SOLDERING: 3 YEARS (PREFERRED)

• REWORK: 3 YEARS (PREFERRED)

OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

TO PERFORM 1ST ARTICLES FOR WIRE AND OR CABLE HARNESS ASSEMBLIES AND CONTROL PANELS. WORK WITH PRODUCTION MANAGERS TO INTEGRATE THE FIRST-TIME BUILDS INTO THE APPROPRIATE PRODUCTION AREA IN ACCORDANCE WITH DEFINED PROCEDURES, DRAWINGS AND OPERATING STANDARDS.

• PERFORMS A VARIETY OF DIVERSIFIED AND COMPLEX ASSEMBLY OPERATIONS IN MANUFACTURING SUB-ASSEMBLY OR ASSEMBLY UNITS FOLLOWING DETAILED WRITTEN OR VERBAL GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES TO REQUIRED QUALITY AND QUANTITY OUTPUT STANDARDS.

• INTERPRET SCHEMATIC AND PERFORM LAYOUT OF ASSEMBLY; RECOMMEND CHANGES TO WORK INSTRUCTIONS TO GAIN MAXIMUM COST EFFECTIVENESS WHILE MAINTAINING CUSTOMERS’ EXPECTATIONS OF WORKMANSHIP TO IPC STANDARDS.

• ASSEMBLE WIRE HARNESSES AND SOLDER/CRIMP/WIRE WRAP LEAD TERMINATIONS. PERFORM SOLDER TOUCH UP ON HARNESSES.

• ASSEMBLES AND INTEGRATES SUB-ASSEMBLIES AND HARNESSES INTO FINAL ASSEMBLIES AND CONFIGURATIONS.

• VERIFIES CONTINUITY BY TESTING CABLE.

• RESOLVES ASSEMBLY PROBLEMS BY ALTERING DIMENSIONS TO MEET SPECIFICATIONS; NOTIFYING PRODUCT SPECIALIST OF THE NEED TO OBTAIN ADDITIONAL RESOURCES.

• REWORKS UNITS THAT HAVE FAILED TEST/INSPECTION OR REQUIRE CHANGES DUE TO ENGINEERING CHANGE NOTICES.

• PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE OF BASIC ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS, WIRING, CRIMPING, MANUFACTURING MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND PRACTICES.

• STRONG ELECTRICAL WIRING, CABLE ROUTING SKILLS.

• USE OF HAND TOOLS, JIGS AND AUTOMATIC EQUIPMENT, PREPARES AND ASSEMBLES ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS/WIRING HARNESSES.

• OPERATES SMALL AIR AND ELECTRICALLY POWERED TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT.

• MAINTAINS SAFE AND CLEAN WORKING ENVIRONMENT BY COMPLYING WITH PROCEDURES, RULES, AND REGULATIONS.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE TECHNICAL:

• BASIC ARITHMETIC, WRITING, READING AND JUDGMENT SKILLS.

• ABILITY TO READ AND INTERPRET WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS, PROCEDURES AND DRAWINGS WITH MINIMUM SUPERVISION.

• KNOWLEDGE OF VARIOUS MANUAL/AIR/ELECTRICALLY OPERATED TOOLS AND JIGS INCLUDING WRENCHES, CRIMP TOOLS, SOLDERING IRONS, AND SURFACE MOUNT TECHNOLOGY MACHINES, WIRE WRAP TOOLS AND STRIPPERS, SPRAY DEGREASERS OR CLEANING UNITS.

• KNOWLEDGE OF COMPUTERS, OFFICE SOFTWARE.

• KNOWLEDGE OF ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS, AND HOW TO SAFELY WIRE UP CONTROL PANELS TO PERFORM LIVE TESTING.

• ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND CONTROL PANEL CIRCUIT, AND TROUBLESHOOT FAILURE/CAUSE.

• UNDERSTANDING OF QUALITY STANDARDS WITH A HIGH LEVEL OF ATTENTION TO DETAIL.

• BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF HYDRAULIC PUMPS AND MOTOR WIRING.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE NON-TECHNICAL:

• SITTING AND/OR STANDING AT WORK STATION USUALLY FOR MOST OF WORK DAY; MAY SOMETIMES PERFORM REPETITIVE ACTION TASKS. WORKS WITH MATERIALS INCLUDING SOLDER (LEAD), FLUX, CLEANING FLUIDS (E.G. ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL), COMPRESSED AIR.
