Senior Finance & Accounting Consultant Opening, Albuquerque, NM

VIP Staffing is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling, verifying and auditing financial transactions. This is a contract position, with full time hours but, willing to work overtime.

Required:

  • Quickbooks

  • Advanced Excel

  • General Ledger

  • Bank reconciliations

  • Manufacturing industry experience a PLUS!

Primary Duties:

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidating balance sheets, statements of operations and cash flow statements (including proper foreign currency revaluation and translation).

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports. Assist with the drafting of quarterly and annual financial statements and related footnote disclosures prepared under SEC / PCAOB standards.

  • Prepare and process journal entries related to accruals, prepaids, depreciation, amortization, etc.

  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations with proper supporting documentation.

  • Conduct variance analysis on financial statements and general ledger accounts; identify and resolve discrepancies.

  • Assist with month-end close, identify opportunities to reduce manual processes and implement process improvements.

  • Research, analysis, interpretation and guidance on technical and complex accounting matters.

  • Internal and external reporting and analysis, communication and recommendations.

  • Assist in the preparation of material for presentations to senior management and audit committee.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, including preparing process documentation and executing test plans.

  • Support Global FP&A Director and Manager, Controller.

  • Plan, design and implement changes to reporting methodologies to improve the speed and accuracy of the closing cycle.

  • Committed to continued process improvement, business and system efficiencies.

  • Assists with providing data for purposes of estimating and budgeting costs for research and products development, projecting costs of new processes.

  • Prepares quarterly and year-end audit schedules.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or advanced education.

  • 10+ years’ experience in Finance and Accounting.

  • Advanced and thorough knowledge of UK GAAP or US GAAP.

  • Manufacturing industry experience with medium sized or large organizations.

  • QuickBooks experience required. SAP Analytics and SAP BPC is a plus.

  • Blackline experience is a plus.

  • Financial reporting and analysis, consolidations experience.

  • Mergers and acquisition (M&A) experience.

  • Audit, public accounting, public company experience.

  • Advanced analytical and organizational skills and must be detail oriented.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel functionality.

  • Ability to communicate with senior management; excellent writing and communication skills.

  • Agile and flexible capacity with shifting priorities.

  • Fast-paced work environment, capacity and flexibility to work potential extra and excess hours.

  • Strong analysis, business acumen and leadership skills.

  • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.

  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.

  • Must be flexible regarding working hours. Must be able to work evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e., stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e., climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

  • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
