Essential Responsibilities include:
Organizing the technical requirements of steel fabrication projects in accordance with each contract.
Overseeing the technical set-up and preparation of shop fabrication and erection drawings, incorporating shop and industry standards.
Manages shop drawing production schedules in accordance with customer and project requirements.
Customer contact for technical questions including issuing RFI’s and maintaining RFI logs.
Manage Document Control and Customer Submittal Requirements.
Coordinates with Project Management, Production Managers and Quality Managers for technical questions. Participates in weekly production schedule meetings.
Some travel may be required.
Ability to read and interpret design and shop drawings and technical specifications for steel fabrication.
Attention to detail – organized.
The use of 3D modeling systems for structural and plate fabricated steel; i.e., Tekla or similar software programs.
Practical application and requirements of AISC, AWS, ASME and similar technical codes.
Software comprehension relating to modern computer fabrication equipment and systems.
Five (5) years related experience in the coordination of steel fabrication projects.
Associates degree or higher and/or training from a technical school is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret design and shop drawings and technical specifications.
