Essential Responsibilities include:

• Organizing the technical requirements of steel fabrication projects in accordance with each contract.

• Overseeing the technical set-up and preparation of shop fabrication and erection drawings, incorporating shop and industry standards.

• Manages shop drawing production schedules in accordance with customer and project requirements.

• Customer contact for technical questions including issuing RFI’s and maintaining RFI logs.

• Manage Document Control and Customer Submittal Requirements.

• Coordinates with Project Management, Production Managers and Quality Managers for technical questions. Participates in weekly production schedule meetings.

• Some travel may be required.

Candidate requirements:

• Ability to read and interpret design and shop drawings and technical specifications for steel fabrication.

• Attention to detail – organized.

• The use of 3D modeling systems for structural and plate fabricated steel; i.e., Tekla or similar software programs.

• Practical application and requirements of AISC, AWS, ASME and similar technical codes.

• Software comprehension relating to modern computer fabrication equipment and systems.

Work Experience

• Five (5) years related experience in the coordination of steel fabrication projects.

• Associates degree or higher and/or training from a technical school is preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret design and shop drawings and technical specifications.
