Raising the Safety Bar

VIP Staffing takes the safety education of our candidates seriously. VIP Staffing Vice President, Andres “Andy” Waltman, recently completed the required training to be designated as an Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Authorized General Industry Trainer

. OSHA’s mission is to save lives, prevent injuries and protect the health of America’s workers by providing training programs to increase knowledge about occupational safety and health.

Waltman’s certification allows him to train the VIP Staffing sales team and managers so they will be able to identify safety issues and hazards at customer sites prior to sending candidates onto location.  This will keep our candidates’ safety a top priority. The goal at VIP Staffing is to educate candidates on certain job hazards before they even start day one on the job and educate our customers on potential safety issues they may not realize are present on a job site.

“Providing this level of training to our staff allows VIP Staffing to provide candidates with a tighter understanding of safety control in the workplace. We are excited to implement this program, continuing to show value to both our customers and candidates,” said Waltman.

Once trained by Waltman, the VIP Staffing team will know how to:

  • Identify potential jobsite safety hazards
  • Help to reduce identified hazards through proper handling of equipment, proper arrangement of the workplace, or donning the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Help to eliminate these hazards in the future
  • Report hazards to managers to create a safer work environment for all

All VIP Staffing sales staff and recruiters will receive OSHA 10 training by the end of April, while all managers will receive OSHA 30 training by the end of summer 2019.
