VIP Staffing CEO Passes Torch After More Than 30 Years

SAN ANTONIO – Sept. 1, 2020 – VIP Staffing announced today that after more than 30 years of leadership, President and CEO Michael Himoff is officially stepping down as CEO and passing the torch to Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Andrew Himoff. Michael will transition to the role of Chairman, while Andrew will become President and Chief Executive Officer.

Michael purchased VIP Staffing in 1988 and built the company into the gold standard of staffing success in the Southwest with nine total locations in seven cities. Originally, VIP Staffing focused on temporary and temp-to-hire administrative positions, but as San Antonio grew, so did customers’ labor needs. With manufacturing, industrial and warehouse industries booming, Michael capitalized on this shift in the economy and began to add specialty practices in these sectors, which quickly accounted for a large portion of the company’s business.

In 1991, he expanded his efforts across state lines by opening an office in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He then developed the skilled trades division in 2008, which focused on construction and contracting positions requiring specialized skills. After observing the rise of the technology sector in Central Texas, Michael added VIP Technology Consultants, the company’s technology division, in 2018. His dedication and perseverance through several economic downturns, and his willingness to make difficult sacrifices, has paved the way for VIP Staffing’s current success.

“Dedicating my life to securing jobs for others and leading the VIP Staffing team has been the most rewarding and fulfilling experiences of my professional life,” said Michael. “It has been an honor to work alongside my family and so many talented people who are like family throughout this journey. I am confident we have the correct leadership in place to continue our growth over the next 30 years,” he continued.

Andrew started as a consultant with the company in 2010 and joined the leadership team in a full-time capacity in January 2016. Prior to joining VIP Staffing, Andrew was a shareholder and attorney at Langley & Banack.
