Immediately hiring an experienced Quality Technician for a food manufacturing company located on the southeast side of San Antonio.
- Mon-Fri 11am-7pm
- Pay $20/HR
Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Monitor process controls (CCP’s, Allergen Control, Foreign Material Control, Labeling Requirements, Package Integrity, Product Specifications) to ensure adherence to all food safety and quality programs
- Perform sample collection as required for microbiological or chemical testing(APC, Yeast & Mold, Water Activity, Moisture).
- Troubleshoot and take appropriate corrective action when deviations occur.
- Document, monitor and analyze data to drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all products manufactured by the plant as well as the raw materials, packaging materials, and operations required in the manufacturing process
- Perform quality audits (AQL’s) to ensure product meets specification.
- Monitor employees for proper work conduct including but not limited to GMP’s, SOP’s, and SSOP’s.
- Review paperwork for accuracy and compliance to all food safety and quality programs.
- Review monthly goals and continuous improvement projects with Quality Assurance Manager
Job Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in a Quality assurance role in a pharmaceutical / food manufacturing facility
- Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline with 1 year of experience in a pharmaceutical / food manufacturing facility in lieu of relevant work experience
- Clear understanding about microbiology; surface swabbing, analyzing environment (air,) organization of samples and collaboration with micro lab. Understanding of reading lab results is a plus.
- Sanitation experience to include procedures, handling of chemicals, write SSOP’s, and help sanitation crew
- Follow equipment calibration as required
- Rigorous monitor process controls and understanding a plus
- Experience with traceability exercise
- Knowledge of water activity analyses, moisture, and pH levels.
- Understanding of parameters that influence process and / or quality of product.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs and Food Safety training.
- Ability to read and interpret data and related documentation.
- Mathematical (addition, division, multiplication, percentages) and computer skills (Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in an environment with a wide range of temperatures
