Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves as subject matter expert, individually motivated and operating with a sense of urgency and personal accountability
- Provides technology and business subject matter expertise on Enterprise Business Systems transformation projects; serves as technical lead on enterprise-wide business systems projects
- Must be able to lead, coordinate, and provide status reports on technical projects; able to serve as a technical resource on projects coordinated by others
- Able to present complex technical information clearly to a non-technical audience, with the ability to provide the appropriate level of detail
- Provides business systems technical support for all aspects of business systems environments and provides technical advice and guidance to junior technical staff
- Works with the Microsoft 365 Product owners to configure and deploy new Microsoft 365 solutions such as Microsoft Teams, Microsoft OneDrive, SharePoint Online, and other M365 Applications and products
- Works with the Enterprise Business System team to continuously develop, manage and implement the Microsoft 365 roadmap, leveraging new platform innovations as needed
- Maintains up to date knowledge of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem; ability to configure Microsoft 365 to meet governance and security requirements
- Creates, maintains, and reviews enterprise business systems architecture artifacts to include systems diagrams and integration requirements
- Prepares accurate and detailed configuration and functional specification documents; documents current state architectures and integration designs; prepares client-facing systems documentation, to include communication plans, high-level systems overviews, and solution recommendations
- Acts as a liaison between various Offices and Departments to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate business requirements for changes to business processes, policies, business systems, and to support Enterprise Business Systems and Enterprise Architecture in the Demand assessment and screening process
- Assist in strategy development, implementation, and tracking; recommends opportunities to optimize application configurations to maximize support levels
- Analyzes vendors and software agreements to ensure alignment with current and future needs Participates in efforts to evaluate, select, and implement third party software, vendors and/or service providers; interacts with software, hardware, and/or professional services vendors
- Maintains a close and respectful working relationships with all staff, and all vendors
- Provides technical support for the configuration and implementation of COTS (Commercial off the Shelf) and custom developed software applications related to enterprise systems
- Able to work in a team
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines and reporting requirements
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, decision making, and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required
- Able to work effectively and respectfully in a culturally diverse environment with customers and team members of differing technical competencies
- Performs other related technology duties and projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a relevant degree, seven (7) or more years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have 7 or more years’ experience with business systems
- Must have 7 or more years’ experience in systems analysis and/or programming methodologies
- Advanced knowledge of client-server technology and relational database management systems
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft 365 cloud platform
- Highly skilled in analytical and problem solving
- Ability and willingness to learn new systems and technologies; ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner across functional and technical departments, both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, stakeholders, employees, Elected/Appointed Officials, outside organizations and agencies, vendors and the general public
- Must have valid Texas driver’s license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance; or have a self-reliant source of transportation to conduct business on a daily basis
- Demonstrates technological intuitiveness
- Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation
- Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
- Required to be on call 24 hours
- May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
- May be required to work weekends
- This position may need to satisfy the requirement of completing and passing an assessment during the employment process
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft 365 Administrator Certification andor Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Certification
- Other Microsoft Certification
- Azure Fundamentals
- Exchange Online Administration
- Strong PowerShell skills
- Strong Cybersecurity knowledge
