My experience with VIP has been amazing. I had been looking for a job for several months and had applied everywhere. I could not find anything and one day I saw a listing for VIP staffing and a job at a warehouse. The next day I got a call from VIP Staffing about a position at a warehouse near me, but they had already found someone by the time my background was verified. At this point, I was discouraged but VIP Staffing was persistent and listened to my needs in finding a job close to where I live. Sure enough, you set me up with an interview with a well-established industry leader in all sorts of different areas having to do with the oil industry. They even have contracts with the Navy making parts for submarines. This was a legit entry level positions to a career and I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity just at the right time. I nailed the interview, and they liked me, and they gave me a chance and I love my job and couldn't have asked for a better opportunity. Matthew Jones with VIP Tech worked diligently to find me a new position when my previous contract was coming to an end. It was a very scary time since the Christmas holidays were fast approaching and most companies are too busy to bring in new staff. Matthew worked tirelessly with his contacts to get me presented and interviewed. He did such a fabulous job that my old job ended on a Friday and my new position started the following Monday. I have never had a staffing consultant work so hard on my behalf. My former boss said I was a unicorn because he had never heard of this happening in December before.
Matt reached out to me in December about a software engineer role he was working on and he gave me some awesome and valuable insight regarding my resume content and assured me that I would see a lot more responses with a few resume tweaks. I went into the offices of VIP Staffing in Dallas and met with Ms. Roshonda the last week of March 2018. From the moment I went into their office, I knew this was a very transparent and down to business staffing agency. I wasn’t prepared with how well they match their future employees with their clients. I’ve interviewed with other staffing agencies and they immediately rush me through the process and testing and try to send me to call centers at an entry level position when I’ve spent years as a Trainer and Lead. VIP Staffing was different. I was called to interview with a company that I had never heard of. But I was comfortable with the position, and the location is only minutes from my home. After meeting with the General Manager, I left feeling very confident about my interview. Working with the VIP staff in Houston has been a truly life-changing experience. When I first arrived at the staffing agency, I was reluctant because I was sure that I was going to be treated as another number in line or another Joe off the streets. To the contrary, I was blown away at how the agency’s staff greeted me and promptly started my process. It started with the usual standard questions, then the interviewer (Mrs. C) began to ask more direct questions in regards to my family, my military background, my hobbies, etc. When I finally decided to ask her “Why such personal questions for a job?” Mrs. C replied, “I’m not looking for a job for you, I’m lining you up with a career opportunity.”
As a young, newly retired, disabled veteran with a family of 5 in tow, my time and options were extremely limited. Mrs. C’s decision to ask those “extra mile questions” afforded her the opportunity to redirect my attention to a more suitable venue. Not only was the location within a 10-mile radius of my home, but the pay was incredible. Within the first 4 months, I’ve received 2, $4.00 raises.
Because she asked about my children, I was allowed to fulfill a commitment I have to them. On that day, I left the agency feeling like a VERY IMPORTANT PERSON!!!!
I have been with VIP staffing for about 2 years. Rob has been great at finding me the type of work I needed when I needed it. From daily, to project and full-time work. He recently placed me in a company that basically had everything on my wish list; from the hours I wanted to the opportunity for promotion. In 2006, after working for 25 years at a Fortune 500 company, I decided it was time to make a career change and put the fast-paced world of sales quotas and publishing deadlines behind me. I was in a fortunate position to retire at a relatively young age and take advantage of the benefits I had earned, so I did just that.
Being an individual who has always thrived on activity, I proceeded to start an internet business, co-found a civic group that still thrives today and also start a busy school bus shuttle program for my grandchildren (ha!). I enjoyed all of these activities but still missed being in the workplace where I had always enjoyed the social interaction. It was in 2007 that I contacted VIP Staffing and met Mary Beth. Mary Beth has since kept me busy with assignments that I have truly enjoyed. Meet Jamael, a recent graduate of Grambling State University where he received a degree in Criminal Justice and was the captain of the Men’s & Women’s Track & Field Team. During his collegiate athletic career at Grambling, he achieved many Conference (SWAC) and NCAA honors. Recently missing the 200m qualification mark for the 2016 Olympic Trials by two tenths of a second, he is training even harder to qualify for the 2017 National Championships in Sacramento, California in pursuit of earning a spot on the USA World Team this year representing USA in the 200m Dash in which the IAAF World Championships will take place in London. My name is Darius, I recently moved to Texas and was looking for a great career that I can call home. I drove big rigs over the road for about 5 years, but that wasn't my cup of tea.
